for i stood too close to the edge
intentionally, willingly
got the push i needed from a haze

heart racing, blood pounding
scared of this move
reaching out, flailing, nothing to hold on to
falling, falling
my life, all i have done, all i failed at
flash before me
what do i leave behind?
struggling, struggling
pushing back at the thrust
fighting, battle of wits for my life
whispers in my ears, 'failure!'
