dark dense wispy
pretty yet dangerous
evoking thoughts of
a turnaround, escape.
within lurks the one
softly calling, gently pulling
try to resist, runaway
from web of deceit.
getting darker now
feel like hallucination
shapes flitting all around
writhing waiting to strike.
just like the dog destined for slaughter
i hear the whistle blow
calling me away
yet i must taste of this.
whistle fades away
blood runs cold
anticipated merriment turns to
embrace with foul one who lurks within.
