in the dark

a place so dark, no end in sight
stood in line for so long
glimmers of hope slowly faded away
now i see through you.

this, this place, my descent
this is me all alone
in my head, all that i want to say
what i need you to know

paranoia your legacy to me

everything, everyone falls apart
shaky, trembling center
associated images fizzle away

tear me down, what is left of me
nothing ever changes, same old same old
the cross gets heavier
weighing me down.

dark dense  wispy
pretty yet dangerous
evoking thoughts of
a turnaround, escape.

within lurks the one
softly calling, gently pulling
try to resist, runaway
from web of deceit.

getting darker now
feel like hallucination
shapes flitting all around
writhing waiting to strike.

just like the dog destined for slaughter
i hear the whistle blow
calling me away
yet i must taste of this.

whistle fades away
blood runs cold
anticipated merriment turns to
embrace with foul one who lurks within.

The Watcher

watching, sitting idly
sands of time trickle slowly
seeing all you do
the small, evil ways you know

smiling, fun all the way
enjoying the silly antics you play
feeling the world through you
inanities displayed in your view

patience, i have it all
mapping out just reward
my body tingles in anticipation
tingling, almost orgasmic

cackling, out loud
you cannot hear me
object in the rear view
so close, so close
